NATURE   HUMAN   WEAVING   TEXT

Raised in the vibrant and colourful South Africa, Anneke Bosch is a textile artist and often poet who seeks the raw beauty of nature and humanity in her work. She experiments with various techniques and materials, such as weaving, dyeing, photography and embroidery, to create expressive and organic art pieces. She also delves into deep research on her chosen topics, such as the delicate South African flora of fynbos, the history and culture of textile art, and the personal stories of herself and others she encounters. She translates her findings and reflections into flowing written word, creating a dialogue between text and textile. She aims to provoke questions, impressions, and reactions in the viewers, and to inspire them to explore their own connection with nature and humanity.

  • a Delicate close up of some purple grasses from South Africa. It is such a delight to see them dancing in the wind on an open field. And I hope to do that feeling justice with these few intimate stitches.

  • Finally my new lazer cut mini frames came in! Super excited to get started on the Mini weaving Challenge I started last year!! Any suggestions of flowers or colours you would like to see on the mini weaving wall? #challenge #brooch #textileart #weaving #wovenart #miniart #lazercut #naturalmaterials
  • Slow and steady the collection is growing!
I can't wait to frame and share them with you soon!

  • Choosing flowers for each new piece is always exciting. Sometimes they just speak to me, and I automatically gravitate towards them. Sometimes I have a idea in my head already and I carefully pick and choose the right ones for the job.
Either way, I can never get tired of looking at them. In all their magical colours, shapes and sizes, and reminisce about the day I found and picked them.

  • Remember a while back I started a challenge to create a bunch of these tiny weavings to fill up a wall???

Well im slowing weaving away to create this glorious wall! One tiny weaving at a time. Im sure you might have spotted a few by now on my stories.
Update coming soon!

  • I love creating small pieces.
Small pieces that work in singularity, and small pieces that work in combination.

I do however have big plans this year to create some bigger pieces too. Dreaming away of all the possibilities...
